Sensei Johnny Longendyke
Born in Lebanon Township, New Jersey, Sensei Longendyke grew up
playing soccer and eventually progressed to the semi-professional
level. He moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona in 1999 and started
karate training under Sensei Dow at the Fountain Hills Karate Club.
During his training, he competed in at the national and international
levels in both kata and kumite, earning championship results on
several occasions.
Sensei Longendyke has trained in Shotokan since 1999 and holds the
rank of Nidan, 2nd degree black belt. He trains under Sensei Edmond
Otis, 7th dan, who is the International Chairman of the American JKA
and Chief Instructor for North America. Sensei Longendyke is currently
involved in the Instructor Training Program of the AJKA. This program
is a two year training program that focuses on in depth principles and
philosophy of Shotokan Karate. Sensei Longendyke focuses on five basic
components of Shotokan, Kata, Kumite, Kihon, Mental strength and
Spiritual Strength.
In 2006, Sensei opened FH Shotokan Karate using a Peaks Fitness classroom
for training. The classes grew to a level that it made sense to open his
own facility; Ni Ju Kun Karate, LLC. Sensei Longendyke adheres to traditional
dojo methods and encourages all of his students to practice respect and honor.
